Final Days

Hey guys, Andrew and James here to give you the last blog post of the semester!

It indeed is sad, but like the rest of the world, life moves on. Now I know you guys are puzzled as to where our intern week blogpost is, but I mean, COME ON. They're interns, do they really need their own post?

I kid, I kid.

But seriously.

Let's take time to reflect on what we've done this semester:
I've stumped everyone every single week with "Guess That Sound"
Jorge lied to everyone by saying that he'd tell a story at the end of each show and then just sleeping in and bringing oreos
We've learned that James and Andrew like to match in flannel
Julia is and will always be the woman in charge
The center of the earth is too hot to meet next semester
8am is way to early to be doing this...
...but in good company, it's all worth it!

Thanks guys for an awesome semester

Daylight Savings Time BLOWS

Good Morning Yall!

There is a serious problem going on, and that problem is the tilt of the earth's axis. This whole "sun going down at 4:30 shit needs to end. So earth cut the shit and straighten yourself out. I wonder if we as the human race could get together and try and change that? Maybe we should all just move to places on the equator? That sounds like a good idea. Regardless Andrew and I are tired of the rain and the darkness. Its like satan made November, and Satan sucks.

So keeping on the theme of the earth and Satan, Andrew and i will be on COMPLETE OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE EARTH from each other once we both go abroad. I will be in Auckland, New Zealand and Andrew will be in Madrid, Spain. We are planning on digging a hole to each other and throwing raw food at each other through the hole to cook it. but in case that doesn't work were just going to meet in the middle and have a pizza party.

BABIES, YOGURT AND BRAZILIANS

Good Mornin' Yall'

Andrew and I are in the most wonderful of moods this morning but we are still intern-less! If you are interested in spending some time working on radio let us know. We're very excited to become parents, but it seems we are having trouble conceiving. Maybe we could get test tube interns. But what about the pitfalls of test tube interns? Will I care for them the same? Will we feel like they're ours? Will they have belly buttons? These are all things I need to discuss with Andrew before we announce anything. but hopefully we'll have bouncing baby interns in no time and we can feel fulfilled and shit.

Andrew and I want to go to Brazil. Also, though I had brought Chobani Yogurt for breakfast, I had no spoon. So I was forced to use my finger to mix in the fruit at the bottom and eat it. my reaction to this...

"I feel like I'm fingering an Ice Queen"

AlSOoOoOoO HoLY shit we had our first caller today... name:

Kyle Sauer

Kyle then requested that we play Yolanda B cool - We No Speak Americano

To which we danced to profusely, as seen by this short You Tube Video (Play this other You Tube Video at the same time for the audio):

with:

Today should be renamed The Day Of Calls as we've received a second caller. Unfortunately she had the wrong number, but now she knows the number for the WTBU radio station? But alas, perhaps we should play some type of wrong number theme song for her. O WELL.

We also discussed our love for Brazilian's. And don't forget, Andrews Water Polo Tournament is this weekend Saturday and Sunday at the FitRec. I will be at the BU V.S Dartmouth game at noon on Saturday at fit rec! Come watch boys in silly hats!

The Quest for Julia and Andrew's Personality

I KNEW BOLLYWOOD MUSIC WOULD LURE THAT GIRL INTO RADIO. We don't have any personality so we're living through our music this morning.

Hey guys! It's Andrew. Sitting alone is lonely. I HOPE YOU GUYS NOW FEEL WEIRD. Julia and I cannot wait for our interns; we will probably get them next show so be prepared to see who is brave enough to join the ranks of Eyjafjallajokull.

So I played these songs

Johnny Cash - Get Rhythm
Blur - Coffee & Tv
Pixies - Havalina
Wavves - King of the Beach
(I had the Hood Internet's Stutin Like A Black Rock in here for a bit but realized it was too "abrasive".... woops)
Samiyam - Moon Shoes
A.R. Rahman - Ringa Ringa
Clutchy Hopkins - 3:02

Then I talked for a bit. Commonwealth avenue feels like one giant tetris game. I think I still have some crusties in my eyes and I wish I packed a lunch.

More songs!

The Smashing Pumpkins - Here Is No Why
Deerhunter - Wash Off
Ratatat - Neckbrace
Sonic Youth - My Friend Goo
Wild Nothing - Summer Holiday
The Bynars - Party All Nite

More talk about alone time. Boredom. Depression. Sadness. I'm....going....to....
PLAY MORE SONGS!
Oh, but first I reviewed the School of Seven Bells concert this past Saturday at The Middle East Downstairs. If I had to give it a grade I would give it a B+. Basically, the first song or two needed to work out some kinks, probably due to the new addition of a drummer on tour. The rest of the show was stellar. Ben Curtis and Alejandra work so well together, and get into their music which just makes it better. Overall, I was enthralled and want to see them every single time they play. I believe our friend Will will be writing a review on the show that goes more in depth. Check it out in the Daily Free Press.

School of Seven Bells - Bye Bye Bye
My Bloody Valentine - When You Sleep
Arcade Fire - Empty Room
Micachu and The Shapes - Ship
Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66 - Roda
De La Soul - Buddy (ft. Q-Tip)
D Jilla - Two Can Win
Flying Lotus - Robertaflack
Billie Holiday - Don't Explain (dZihan & Kamien Remix)
Nas - Good Morning (Too many "n" words, woops)
Telepopmusik - Breathe
Buena Vista Social Club - Chan Chan
Whitney Houston - I Want To Dance With Somebody (*This, alongside Nas's "Good Morning," is the anthem when Julia drives in her Kia Sephia)

BEEP BEEP, julia's car just wants to dance with somebody
Hey Guess what happens next? More talking! Whitney has 2 new back up singers, move over honey.

The Waitresses - I Know What Boys Like
Bananarama - Cruel Summer
Baths - Lovely Bloodflow (If you haven't checked out this album yet, get on that)
Local Natives - Wide Eyes

Hi guys, It's me, julia. *yawn*. HOPE U ENJOYED DANCE TIME.

FIRST SHOW. RAIN SHOW. BRAIN SHOW. PLANE SHOW.

GOOD MORNING!
Andrew and I have both made it to our show on time despite apocalyptic weather conditions. I am wet, Andrew is wet, in fact he dosent even have pants on. Well, I don't either, but thats only because I am wearing a dress. This is being to start to sound like a phone sex conversation.

Andrew and I have had a few good interns over the past few years and we are determined to have a set of good kids to teach the ropes of radio this year. SO IF YOU LIKE BOLLYWOOD MOVIES, LEARNING POPULAR HIP HOP DANCE MOVES, AND PHYSICAL CONTACT (IF YOU DONT LIKE HUGS THEN GO AWAY) then you should apply for our show! Here is our wish list of physical traits as well as mental capacities we would like to see in prospective interns:

Andrew's criteria for interns:
1. Must be more than willing to dry his panties.
2. Open to clipping his toenails.
3. Nice would be nice.

Julia's criteria for interns:
1. must have homework completed before radio.
2. DON'T BE AFRAID OF TALKING (ask andrew, dont be skurred, shits easy)
3. Glitter.
4. Hair that smells nice.

It's not too much to ask, wethinks.
Andrew was introduced to both Jessie Slaughter and The Bed Intruder song today. You can find their links respectively following this sentence:
